Chapter 12.2

Chapter 12: Our Honeymoon (2)

Maldives was very picturesque but the journey to Maldives was very painful. Fortunately we were travelling in a low tourist season thus flights and hotels were booked a bit more easily but a ten hours non-stop flight was a little too much for me. We actually made a half turn around the world by plane! Along the way I basically listened to some music and slept, when I groggily got up from my sleep it was already dark outside, in Jiang Li’s words it was truly regrettable that I did not belong to species of pig.

We landed at the MALDI airport at ten’ o clock in the night and then we had to undergo security check. The hotel we had booked was on another island but fortunately it was not far from MALDI airport. Post customs clearance we would have to travel by ferry for a while. After tending everything and running around everywhere we finally reached the hotel at around midnight. Two of us simply washed up a bit and went to bed. Jiang Li did not forget to mock me before sleeping: “You have slept all day, how can you still sleep more?”

I disregarded his words, I knew in his heart he was envious of how I could eat and sleep well and thus could make being even pig fun!
... ..

I felt Jiang Li was really crazy, even on his ‘honeymoon’ he did not forget his exercise, he ran around the island lap after lap all morning and then came back to eat breakfast growing my contempt towards him profounder.

The hotel offered buffet breakfast, with a wide variety, but it was mostly western-style, there was nothing that could suit my palate. However, the fruits here were quite good so I just ate some fruits and pastries, drank junk drinks for the breakfast.

After breakfast we went to the pier along with several visitors to tour around the island. Bypassing the main island we went to nearby smaller islands to learn about the indigenous and native people and their lifestyle.

Maldives’s sea was very beautiful, very calm sea, giving the heart of people watching it a sense of liberty, openness. The vegetation on the beach, the villas and over-water bungalow coupled with clean azure water looked like a painting, serene and alluring. I kept clicking the camera button, photographing everything in order to not miss the beautiful scenery.

I have personally seen the beauty of Maldives and i assure u guys that the author isn't over-exaggerating about it's beauty

These days the natives of Maldives are also known merchants. There’re many local people who had opened up shops that sell some kind of souvenirs. They had lots of things to enjoy such as painted wooden box as well as small pendant made of shells and fish teeth. The shop owner was very enthusiastic in selling; I was feeling too embarrassed to refuse so just picked up a few pretty pieces….in any case somebody else had to pay.

After finishing strolling around various islands in the morning I was a little tired. But program after lunch was relatively exciting, which was-diving.

Jiang Li’s huge bird called suitcase was filled with sophisticated diving equipment as well as a diving camera which looked very professional.

Jiang Li’s silhouette quickly disappeared in the water. Beach water was transparent; could see things clearly about ten meters under the water. That being said, Jiang Li was submerged under more than ten meters of water. Exactly how many meters, how many yards was he under the water; not that I was impressed or anything! It would have been best if he kept submerged in the water and became a meal for the sharks and thus never came out again.

Compared to Jiang Li’s my costumes and equipment could be called shabby. My props included life jacket, snorkeling suit along with a shallow diving camera which were rented from the hotel.

Shallow water diving was something very simple, very safe, could also see limited natural scenery. After being fully equipped, I dived into the water and slowly swam towards a distance.

Magnificent underwater scenery that made my heart beat faster. This was the most transparent water I had ever seen, entering such blue water could make people feel that life has become pure and serene.
In water from time to time the groups of small fishes, whose name I did not know, swam by. The majority of them had bright vivid color, beautiful appearance. Some fishes with more courage swam directly in front of me, turning a complete blind eye towards me. I tried to poke their belly with my finger but they dodged cleverly, really a bunch of cute little fellows. Inspired by them to play well, I tried to swim further ahead.

Within few moments of swimming ahead I saw the coral reef. Beautiful coral reefs with several different colors, standing thousands and thousands meters tall, providing a marvelous view.  Nature truly is a miracle.

Roamed around coral for a while, it was time to bid goodbye since a low tide was predicted but I could not bear to leave so I decided to come again next day since I had not seen enough of these coral reefs.
Now back at the hotel, Jiang Li came back earlier in the room and was on the internet. I thought he must have found diving boring that’s why he retired early. Thinking of this I could not hide the look of satisfaction from my face so took out my laptop, plugged in the memory card of my camera and pulled out the pictures taken underwater to show them to him.

Jiang Li glanced at my laptop; his face looked like a blank sheet, with almost no change.

I laughed: "If you are envious then say so, I am curious what were you doing underwater.”

"Doing this." Jiang Li said while showing some pictures on his laptop to me.

I looked at his computer screen and my eyes instantly lit: "This coral reef is so pretty, Ah! This fish seems to emit light, so beautiful, why didn’t I see it?”

Jiang Li explained from the side "These corals can move."

???

Jiang Li pushed my head away to protect his laptop keyboard from my drooling saliva and then said: “This is a soft coral, they can move.”

It was amazing, this was the first time I had heard that there are also soft corals in this world; I really wanted to see it, ah!

Jiang Li reading my mind, with a single sentence severed my idea: “With your standards, getting permit for deep diving will be quite difficult.”

Pursing my lips I brushed off his hand from the mouse and took control of the mouse to see if he had taken another pretty picture.

Five minutes later.

"Jiang Li, you only have taken these few pictures?" After taking great pain to look at the photos in his laptop there were only a few pictures of soft moving coral. Although these colorful soft corals were very picturesque, too beautiful but……weren’t these pictures just too little?

Jiang Li nodded his head in admittance: “Nothing else was worth shooting.”

Me: "Are you kidding, there must be a lot of fun things in the deep water, it’s hard to get in to that deep, such a rare opportunity.”

Jiang Li glanced towards my laptop screen, said: "I believe in photographing only precious treasure, getting a pile of garbage back what’s the point in that.”

Humph! I was getting angry, he’s trash!!!

  6. Wow! I didn't know the author behind this also was the one who wrote Rice Pot Next Door. Thanks to Swatriani Aprilia, now I know. AND indeed is the author obsessing over rich "gay" male leads? lol

Good job on translating! I wish I know Chinese. (>.<) You are so lucky! A bit of help (hope this doesn't irk you), in this phrase "growing my contempt towards him profounder", I think it should be: "growing my contempt towards him more profound". (^_^)

But overall, thank you for the translation post!

    2. Wow! My hats off to you. You're amazing? Do you use a translation program? I sometimes use google to further read ahead when I can't wait knowing what comes after next. But there are details and nuances that are oftentimes lost in Google translation.

      Thank you very much.

    3. Sowee. There shouldn't be a question mark after amazing. It should be an exclamation point. Typing on an iPad does that to me a lot of times.

  11. I'd love to go to the Maldives one day as well. Jiang Li seems to like enticing her with things that he knows she will like and then pushing her away by teasing her. I'm starting to think he's a bit of a Tsundere!! Thank you for the translation!
